Savannah Kelly, a UM Higher Education Ph.D. student, recently had an article published in The Journal of Academic Librarianship.

The journal article titled “Faculty perceptions of librarian value: The moderating relationship between librarian contact, course goals, and students’ research skills,” examines the relationship between academic librarian contact and faculty course goals on faculty perceptions of librarians’ contributions to students’ research skills.

“This article is a direct application of the skills I learned in my coursework for the Interdisciplinary Minor in Applied Statistics (IMAS) program,” Kelly said.  “I used the Ithaka Faculty Survey for my culminating paper in educational statistics II with Dr. Balkin, then I enrolled in a special topics course on moderation and mediation analyses with Dr. Bentley in Pharmacy Administration. As a Ph.D. student and an academic librarian, it feels great to have published a peer-review article that combines both my student and professional roles.
